Truth or Fiction

Would you believe me if I said “its complicated”?

Fiction, good solid fiction, comes alive. The story may be detailed or may not but in your head, in your mind you can picture it, perhaps think it, feel it, occurring. Part of your mind knows it can’t all be true, it’s too far out there for someone to have experienced it. Too vivid in color, the interactions too harsh, specifics too bold. Descriptions perhaps too exact to be reality, statements and actions too extreme to be experienced. But you want to believe it and for a moment you do. Good fiction is hard to find and more complex to write.

Truth is difficult to determine. The whole truth rarely shown. But in each rant, each random thought put to paper, there is a direction that was shaped by real life. Somewhere in the story lives an idea or action that has or is occurring. The detail is too rich to be anything but truth. Feelings they say are fleeting but the impact they have is long lasting. Facts are colored by those feelings as well as the time between they day they happened and the day they are discussed. What one sees as facts the other may not recognize, truth is in that way subjective. Truth that is, or was, or perhaps will be.

Are these Fiction or Truths that I post? Yes.
